I get a lot of questions about what brand and method of foundation I use on my brides. When I first started out as a bridal artist over a decade ago, I used airbrush because that is what my clients were asking for. The results were lovely, but it was not a method of application I felt suited every skin type. It was challenging to fix and touch up and I spent a lot of time cleaning my nozzle, which made my appointments take longer. That’s not to say airbrush is bad, it just wasn’t the method that, as an artist, I felt most confident implementing in my business. Over time, I developed my own method for perfecting the skin with traditionally applied foundation that looked just as good - if not better - than airbrush, with better longevity and flexibility for application. Every artist has their own magic that they bring to their art and methodology. As a licensed esthetician, beautiful skin from the inside out is so important to me and I take great care at creating a base that not only looks flawless and healthy, but also looks and feels just as good in person and it does behind the camera lens. I use a few brands interchangeably, depending on my clients’ skin and their desired outcome, but the method is always the same: nourish and prep the skin first and light 層次 of gently buffed out foundation only where the client needs it. Makeup trends fluctuate rapidly, but fresh, enhanced skin is always in style. (Featured bride is @genova_alex and her skin is 😍😍😍) Photo by @tyramariephotography 📸
