"Dry Cut" During busy work periods, due to time constraints, I usually choose to do a dry cut first on all the chemicals, then proceed with the chemical treatment. This way, when it's time to deliver the work, I don’t have to worry about rushing and causing a mess. Besides being fast, dry cutting allows me to more intuitively understand the messages from the client's hair, such as its elasticity, curl pattern, and volume when dry. It enables a more instinctive approach to trimming. If precise wet cutting is like building a skyscraper, then dry cutting feels more like painting to me—immersing myself in the spontaneity of creative expression. Of course, precise wet cutting has its irreplaceable advantages, especially when it comes to practicing and enhancing control. So, it’s essential to master both techniques, but which one to use depends entirely on the mood 😎.
